What is the difference to the GX1 (Google TV)?
The main difference lies in the user interface and image processing. Android TV (G1) offers a very fast, uncluttered interface that focuses on your installed apps. Google TV (on the GX1) is a more modern, content-based interface with personalized movie suggestions from all your services. Additionally, the GX1 offers even better image optimization (upscaling) thanks to the AI processor.
Does the G1 support external hard drives?
Yes, you can connect hard drives or sticks to the USB ports. For large hard drives (e.g., 4TB or more), we recommend models with their own power supply to ensure stable operation.
Are all Play Store apps available?
The G1 uses the official Android TV OS. You have access to thousands of apps specifically optimized for TV use (e.g., Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video). Note: Pure smartphone apps that mandatorily require a touchscreen are not available in the TV store.
Do I need a Google account?
