What is the difference between a streaming box and a media player?
A streaming device (e.g., GX1) uses operating systems like Google TV and is designed to play apps like Netflix, Disney+, or YouTube in the highest 4K quality via the internet. A dedicated high-end media player (like the R82), on the other hand, focuses on your local movie collection. It plays huge ISO files including Blu-ray menus from your hard drive or NAS server and delivers pristine audio (HD audio passthrough) to your AV receiver.
Why an airmouse instead of a normal remote control?
Many Android apps were originally developed for smartphones or tablets (touchscreens). A classic infrared remote control with arrow keys quickly reaches its limits here. An airmouse has gyro sensors: You move the remote from your wrist, and the cursor glides smoothly across the TV screen. Combined with the keyboard on the back, entering passwords or search terms becomes extremely convenient.
