Troubleshooting & Knowledge Base
Help with settings and technical problems. Solutions directly from our technicians.
The GD1 keeps restarting during boot (Boot loop)
Please do not connect the GD1's USB power cable to the TV, but instead use a standard USB power adapter (e.g., from a smartphone) for the wall outlet. The adapter should deliver at least 5V / 2A (10 watts). The stick will then boot up stably immediately.
The WiFi connection is very slow or drops
Use a short HDMI extension (a short, flexible HDMI cable) to move the stick a few inches away from the TV casing. Often it's enough for the stick to peek out minimally from the side or bottom of the TV to drastically improve WiFi speed.
The remote control no longer responds after changing batteries
- Briefly disconnect the GD1 from the power and plug it back in.
- Wait until the start screen appears on the TV.
- Press and hold the Back button (left arrow) and the Home button (house symbol) simultaneously on the remote for about 5 to 10 seconds.
- The remote will now automatically reconnect to the stick.
Prime Video shows an HDMI connection error
- Handshake Reset: Completely disconnect the TV and the GD1 from the power. Unplug the stick from the HDMI port, plug it back in, and restart everything.
Picture looks overexposed (bright faces) or pixelated background
- Go to Settings → Display & Sound → Resolution.
- Change the HDR setting from "Always HDR" to "Adaptive" or completely to "SDR" (Off) as a test.
- In the same menu, change the Color Space from "Auto" to "RGB" or "YCbCr 4:2:0".
- Restart the stick afterwards.
Picture freezes in Live TV apps, but audio continues
- Go to Settings → Display & Sound → Resolution.
- Disable the auto-switch function.
- Manually select 4K 50Hz (or 1080p 50Hz). The Live TV apps will run absolutely smoothly again afterwards.
Picture stutters during movies (Judder / double contours)
- Go to Settings → Display & Sound → Resolution (or Playback).
- Activate the option Match Content Frame Rate.
- Set it to Always. The stick will now automatically force the TV to the correct refresh rate for movies.
The TV turns on by itself at night
- Go to Settings → Display & Sound → HDMI-CEC.
- Turn off the CEC Switch or Auto Wake options there. The devices will now remain dark until you consciously turn them on with the remote.
Why are apps like NordVPN already pre-installed?
How do I reset the GD1 to factory settings?

- Select System → About.
- Click on Factory reset and confirm the process.
