The Orbsmart S87L is a mini PC / TV box with a full Android OS operating system pre-installed. The device is equipped with the latest quad-core processor S905X4 plus 4GB DDR4 RAM. This chipset is one of the few on the market that already supports the latest AV1 video codec. Thanks to 4K Ultra-HD (incl. Android OS
With the S87L you have access to the Android OS 11 version, which is particularly characterized by its stability and speed. As usual on the smartphone or tablet, the operation is simple and intuitive. Numerous Pro features (see below) expand the range of functions enormously.
Apps
With the Play Store (formerly Android Market) you have the almost free choice over now more than 1 million available Android apps. Install your favorite apps like YouTube, Skype or games like PUBG or Fortnite and many more. Even unavailable apps can be installed manually via .apk file.
4K HDR Media Player
Enjoy your movies in 4K & Full HD quality. The S87L supports playback of 4K UHD videos (including features like HDR10+, BT.2020 / VP9 Profile 2) from a hard drive/SD card or from the home network. The S87L is a very good media player that supports many video and audio formats (5.1 surround formats DTS/Dolby) including Automatic Frame Rate Switching (24p & 23,976p) support.
AV1 Video Codec
As one of the few Android TV boxes on the market, the S87L supports the new AV1 video codec (Hardware Video Decoding). The codec enables strong data compression, allowing videos to be viewed even more smoothly and with a smaller size & data consumption.
Media Center
KODI (formerly XBMC) brings the extremely popular media center to Android! With the pre-installed KODI version you have full access to the extensive media interface with everything: automated download of movie covers & detailed movie information, genre sorting and many more. Additionally, there is a microSD slot (max. 32GB) on the side, which is great for pictures on a memory card.
Airmouse included
Directly included: a simple airmouse with gyro sensor. Easily and comfortably control the S87L from the sofa with hand movements (similar to Wii controls). A microphone is also directly integrated.
